Job Summary
The University of Michigan Law School is seeking a dedicated and experienced Media Consultant to join our LAW IT team. The successful candidate will provide support for classes and events. You will maintain, install and support a variety of instructional technology and audio-visual equipment. You will process and respond to calls, emails or tickets for audio-visual technical support.
You will report to the IT Operations Manager onsite at the UM Ann Arbor Central Campus. This position may include some evening and weekend work. Schedules may be adjusted to accommodate this work. This position is 100% onsite in Ann Arbor located on the UM Ann Arbor Central Campus.

Responsibilities*
- Maintain, install and support audio-visual equipment such as projectors, speakers, microphones, video screens and AV control systems
- Keep accurate records of equipment inventory, maintenance, and repairs
- Technical pre/post preparation, consultation and setup for courses and events
- Provide service-oriented high-quality customer service to faculty, staff, and students; assist with audio/visual and computer technology and media within the Law School facilities
- Respond to faculty, staff and student needs, and collaborate with other Law IT staff to identify appropriate AV technology solutions for teaching and learning; act as back-up for colleagues
- Research solutions for meeting new AV requirements
- Train faculty, staff and students in use of Law School facilities, equipment, and new instructional technologies
Required Qualifications*
- At least two years experience operating complex audio-visual and computer-based technologies
- Proven experience in the installation, maintenance, and/or support of audio-visual equipment
- Other skills you may have or want to learn about
- AVIXA certification
- Experience with Poly-brand Zoom Room equipment
- Computer hardware and software relevant to AV systems
- Issue tracking and asset management software
