Responsibilities:
- Create and develop detailed mechanical, electrical, and plumbing system designs for a wide variety of projects.
- Complete work according to relevant codes and standards.
- Produce construction documents from sketches, notes, dialogue, and other details.
- Generate and maintain clear documentation throughout the project process, including drawings and specifications.
- Collaborate in a team environment as well as self-manage and self-motivate.
- Use good written and verbal communication skills coupled with strong organizational skills to complete projects.
- Attend and actively participate in project team meetings.
- Manage time and workload to meet project task deadlines and commitments within your projects’ budgets and schedules.
- Report to intermediate and senior-level coworkers regularly.
- Travel occasionally to support project tasks.
- Comply with office standards.
- Take field measurements and attend field site inspections.
- Develop relationships with local clients.
NOTE: This is a full-time position. This person will serve as the only MEP engineer in the Galesburg office with supervision and mentorship from the Burlington and Quincy offices.
Qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience designing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Bachelor Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited institution.
- Professional Engineer licensure is preferred.
- If not yet licensed, the following is preferred:
- 4 years of documented experience working under a licensed PE.
- Completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
- Eligibility to apply for licensure in the State of Illinois within the next 2 years.
- Proficiency with Revit is a must.
- Demonstrated experience with HVAC design, including HVAC load calculation, ductwork and piping design, equipment selection, etc.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and perform work assignments with minimal supervision.
NOTE: Candidates with less than 2 years of experience would be required to complete training in Quincy, IL; Burlington, IA; or Columbia, MO, before moving to Galesburg.
Salary Range: $30-$37
