Position Summary:
Manages all activities related to Outside Vendor Production (OPV) Planning and Materials Planning with the primary goals of attaining product/materials availability targets, inventory targets, and obsolescence. Directs, mentors, coaches, and develops planning staff to attain the highest levels of performance while simultaneously retaining the high-performing staff members.
Responsibilities:
- Achieves results and brings out the best in people by:
- Establishing Job design and ensuring appropriate staffing to deliver the department and team strategy, operating plan, and short-term objectives.
- Communicating department goals and objectives and cascading them to others, ensuring workload is distributed appropriately to achieve goals and objectives.
- Maintaining two-way dialogues with direct reports on work and results.
- Interpreting and ensuring Company policies and procedures are understood and consistently followed by others.
- Collaboratively creating development plans and coaching individuals in achieving them.
- Working within the people management systems in the Company to develop others (performance management, rewards, and selection process).
- Creating an energizing work environment that supports the Company's high-performance culture while ensuring an efficient and flexible organization.
- Utilizing demand plan-driven Kinaxis materials requirements, manages supply planning of all OPV-produced finished goods and Pharmavite raw materials for all plants (internal and external), including:
- Issuing purchase orders for all production requirements
- Tracking fill rate/availability, inventory, obsolescence, and vendor performance.
- Actively contributes to the monthly supply review process, part of the S&OP process.
- Collaborates frequently and regularly with Sourcing/Procurement and OPV Operations teams to coordinate OPV planning and outside vendor management.
- Collaborates frequently and regularly with Production Planning, Plant Scheduling, and Plant Operations to coordinate internal and outside vendor planning.
- Ensures training and capability of planning team staff in JDE, Kinaxis, and other systems as appropriate and manages all aspects of OPV master planning data management /maintenance.
- Actively encourages and pursues continuous improvement in outside vendor planning processes.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
- Requires a four-year college or university degree, or its equivalent, preferably in Production/Materials Planning, Supply Chain Management, Logistics/Materials Management, or Business.
Certification:
- American Production & Inventory Control Society (APICS) certification is preferred.
Experience:
- More than six years of experience in production/materials planning with a focus on outside vendor management is required.
- Two-plus years of team leadership experience is required.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Comprehensive knowledge of production planning, materials planning, and inventory planning processes is required.
- Demonstrated success in leading teams to attain materials availability, inventory, and obsolescence targets.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams to redefine/re-invent and improve processes.
- Demonstrated ability to identify potential issues before they occur and manage to avoid the issue occurrence - to create and drive a "fire avoidance" culture rather than a "firefighting" culture
- Demonstrated ability to get things done by influencing others
- Extensive and ongoing use of ERP systems in support of these processes is required (JDE is preferred).
- Extensive and ongoing use of Advanced Planning Systems (APS) in support of these processes is preferred (with an additional preference for Kinaxis).
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to successfully interface with all functions and levels in the organization.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Work Schedule/Location:
- This is a hybrid role, with the firm requirement that Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday are spent working in the West Hills office.
Physical Requirements:
- General office environment, ability to sit for long periods. Ability to move about an office. Potential international and domestic travel
Environment:
- Temperature-controlled office. Exposure to disagreeable elements is minimal.
Safety:
- The incumbent must be able to perform this job safely without endangering the health or safety of self or others.
Supervisory Responsibility:
- The incumbent has direct supervisory responsibility for approximately five employees.

Annual Pay Range
$128,228.00 - $192,290.00This represents the minimum and maximum base salary range for this role, plus annual incentive. Various elements are used to determine a candidate's starting salary such as job experience, specific skills, and comparison to internal incumbents currently in the role.
