$72.422 - $93.448 - $114.474The stated pay scale reflects the range that Sharp reasonably expects to pay for this position. The actual pay rate and pay grade for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant's years of experience, unique skills and abilities, education, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, other requirements for the position, and employer business practices.
What You Will Do
Responsible for all aspects of the day-to day operations of the Skilled Nursing Unit. This position assumes the designation of Director of Nursing responsibilities for all of Long Term Care as defined by CMS/CA-Title 22. Provides twenty-four (24) hour administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability for the planning, operating, staffing, and coordinating of Skilled Nursing to ensure the delivery of high quality, cost effective patient care. Manages overall operations of the unit with effective supervision of staff and excellent communication of workplace polices and expectations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in nursing
- 5 years clinical experience in relevant area.
- 2 years management experience.
- California Registered Nurse (RN) - CA Board of Registered Nursing -REQUIRED

- Master's degree
Essential Functions
- Assumes the designation of Director of Nursing responsibilities for all of Long Term Care as defined by CMS/CA-Title 22. Participates in establishing goals, standards, policies, procedures, and protocols for nursing services and assigned areas of responsibility in accordance with the mission of the Hospital.
- Participates on Resident Council and demonstrates appropriate follow through and communication.
- Maintains quality patient care through the use of clinical expertise and improved nursing practice.
- Facilitates and resolves issues that affect the quality of service provided to patients and physicians.
- Supervises staff including hiring, evaluating, coaching, counseling, and assuring that performance management tools are used effectively and timely. Plans for the efficient and effective use of staff skill sets and work loads.
- Manages operations in accordance with established standards of practice, policy, and regulatory requirements.
- Participates in budget development as needed and maintains a budget consistent with the Hospital's goals and objectives.
- Builds relationships and rounds consistently with management, clinical staff, and other healthcare team members to facilitate appropriate quality outcomes.
- Demonstrates strong team building skills and effectively institutes change supporting unit, level of care, and organizational goals.
- Consistently communicates in a positive and timely manner with staff members, Sharp employees, physicians, patients and visitors.
- Provides cross coverage leadership in the absence of co-manager (Manager of Subacute).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Expert knowledge of professional nursing practice, including current trends and issues.
- Ability to communicate clearly, verbally and in writing.
- Ability to supervise staff and clinical leads effectively.
