Job Summary
The Manager Operations is responsible for managing the Manufacturing Operations of the facility and the Operations staff. The Manager Operations plans, organizes, and directs the manufacturing operation of the facility to ensure the most effective return on assets, obtainment of production schedules, meeting, customer requirements, and overall business objectives.
Main Responsibilities, Requirements, and Competencies
- Plan, organize and direct the manufacturing operation to ensure the obtainment of production schedules in a safe and efficient manner.
- Monitor daily established KPI’s to ensure customer requirements are met.
- Provide root cause analysis of production and quality issues and make appropriate decisions based on risk analysis.
- Develop and implement action plans to meet or exceed KPI’s when they are not met.
- Lead YFIMS and YF iOS plant floor initiatives to ensure Operations compliance.
- Oversee staff levels within each department by shift and ensure not to exceed authorized levels. Monitor and control planned and unexpected overtime.
- Assure that all plant guidelines and procedures are adhered to.
- Communicate regularly with direct reports and management and supervise their performance in all functions including performance evaluation.
- Provide Plant Manager a daily production update and weekly summary.
- Provide Plant manager monthly production information for monthly MOR.
- Position may have some department managers reporting into, CI, Maintenance, Tooling, Launch, Engineering, Supply Chain and Production Managers.
- Other duties as assigned.
Specific Requirements
Bachelor's Level Degree Area of Study: Engineering, Business Administration, Finance or similar. *Equivalent work experience may also be considered for certain positions.
7-10 Minimum Years of Experience with plant/departmental responsibilities with injection molding experience.
7 Minimum Years of Experience within the automotive industry.
