Full Job Description

Kimball Midwest, a national distributor of maintenance, repair, and operation products, is searching for a Maintenance Specialist for our Columbus, OH location.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance on all warehouse equipment. 
  • Inspections of all fire extinguishers in accordance with the guidelines located in Human Resources or other safety equipment, as assigned. 
  • Perform minor plumbing, electrical, and carpentry repairs as they occur. 
  • Completes maintenance checklist daily. 
  • Ensures the cleanliness of all Company facilities, including restrooms. 
  • Assists in planning for changes in material handling systems and plant layout to accommodate sales growth and increased purchasing. 
  • May be required to drive personal or company vehicle to make pick up or delivery of materials. 

Qualifications

  • Past experience in general maintenance systems, preferably in the distribution industry or related field. 
  • Ability to concentrate and to communicate with management, co-workers, and supervisors.
  • Ability to read and write small letters and numbers; the ability to make arithmetic calculations; and the ability to understand written and oral instructions.  
  • Ability to lift objects weighing fifty (50) pounds.

  • Adaptable to varying environmental conditions (i.e. heat, humidity, dust, toxic and/or non-toxic chemicals 
  • This position requires a valid drivers license.

Additional Information

The hours are 2:30 - 11pm, Monday-Friday, after training period.
