Title: Mainframe Consultant

Location: Atlanta, Georgia - 30318

Duration: 06 - 12 months (with possible extension)

About the Role:

• We are looking for a skilled Mainframe Storage Administrator to join our team.
• The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing storage systems, monitoring replication, and ensuring the overall performance and efficiency of our storage infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

• Manage storage systems, including DS8000, and monitor replication
• Utilize DFSMS, Flashcopy, ICF Catalogs, and HCD for storage management
• Perform performance tuning and develop operational procedures
• Monitor system indicators such as logs, dumps, and errors for proactive issue resolution
• Administer 3rd-party storage systems software
• Participate in on-call rotation and weekend work as required

Required Skills:

• Knowledge of DFSMS (DFSMShsm / DFSMSdss), Flashcopy, ICF Catalogs, and HCD
• Experience with system indicators for proactive management of system problems
• Experience with Virtual Tape Management Systems (VTS) and replication monitoring
• Experience/knowledge of parallel sysplex (GDPS), catalog management, and system utilities
• Proficiency in basic computer applications, such as MS Office software suite

Nice to have skills:

• Additional knowledge of DFSMS, Flashcopy, ICF Catalogs, and HCD
• Further experience with system indicators for proactive issue resolution
• Familiarity with administering 3rd-party storage systems software
