Position: LCSW
Asheville Pediatric Associates is looking to add an LCSW to their team to provide multi-disciplinary care to their patients. Asheville Pediatrics is located in the middle of the Blue Ridge Mountains, just 10 minutes from downtown Asheville and 5 minutes from Biltmore Village. We are a well-established practice with a history of providing a full patient panel for all providers within the practice.
Education:
Master's in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy or Doctorate in Clinical Psychology
Two (2) years of relevant experience or comparable combined experience and/or education preferred.
Prefer training in cognitive behavioral therapy.
Required Licenses:
Current North Carolina License to practice independently including Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) or Doctoral level Psychologist (PhD or PsyD)
Current BLS certification required.
The ideal candidate would:
-Clinical experience in cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma informed care.
-Experience teaching practices of mindfulness.
-Effectively and respectably communicate with other individuals, whether it be a colleague, patient, or patient's family member and appropriately enumerate information in a manner easily understood by all parties.
-Stay up to date on new practices and information in your area of expertise and communicate the information to the rest of the team.
-Meet difficult situations with grace, professionalism, and understanding through effective listening, demonstrating responsibility and dependability and being patient with others.
-Create an autonomous schedule that includes office hours 5 days a week with at least two days that include evening hours to accommodate school-aged patients.
Specific Duties:
-Individual psychotherapy for children and adolescents, sometimes involving crisis intervention counseling.
-Evaluates patient's response to plan of care and works in collaboration with the care team to make any necessary adjustments.
-Provides care that is safe, ethical, patient-centered, culturally congruent, and evidence-based.
-Consultation: Through face-to-face meetings with providers.
-Coordinate care by identifying and serving as liaison with other agencies and community resources including schools, courts, primary care, hospitals, and psychiatrists.
-All clinical activities involve some degree of collaborative care with providers.
-Assess for and makes referrals to other providers and services in the community both internally and externally.
-May be offered the opportunity to teach students on a case by case and as needed basis.
Commitment from Asheville Pediatrics:
-Provide office, technology and equipment for documenting services provided, and supplies and equipment suitable to LSCW's position. -All billing is handled through APA Billing Office.
-Clerical support by scheduling appointments, processing referrals, and taking patient messages as needed.
-Pay for and maintain in force a professional liability insurance policy insuring LCSW for professional errors, omissions, negligence, incompetence, and malfeasance.
