Lab Technician with a well-established material science company. We have a casual work environment while taking pride in making quality products for our customers and end users. This position will work Monday - Friday from 7:00 - 3:30 and start as soon as a qualified person is identified - so don't delay in applying!
Perform raw materials and finished product quality assurance, experimental mixture blending and testing, and other lab testing and evaluation procedures with company products as assigned. Moderate degree of familiarity with raw materials and finished product specifications and properties.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
- Ability to safely lift 50 pounds a few times per day
- Performing Quality Assurance testing and evaluations with raw materials and finished products in accordance with Quality Assurance Instructions in the Company Quality Control Manual. Assuring safety, quality, accuracy, and consistency.
- Preparing and issuing reports to required company personnel.
- Maintaining records of Quality Assurance and experimental results.
- Classifying tested finished products according to appropriate warehouse criteria.
- Must develop a moderate familiarity with raw materials and finished product specifications and properties.
- Proficiency in performing required testing functions (tensile, penetration, bending, flexibility, etc.)
- Assisting with training of other lab personnel.
- Sampling and testing of raw materials for agency approval.
- Performing experimental mixing and testing with building products in accordance with instructions provided.
- Performing assigned task with a minimum of supervision.
- Responsible to keep equipment clean and in good working condition.
- Reporting of results in timely manner.
- Responsible to keep accurate records on files.
- Responsible to keep work area clean and organized.
- Cooperation with other employees in the department and the company regarding performance of assigned duties and other company activities.
- Performing other tasks assigned by supervisor.
- Must be willing to work overtime and various shifts when required.
MEASURE OF EFFECTIVENESS:
- Quantity, quality and timeliness of Quality Assurance and/or experimental work performed and completed.
- Quality and completeness of data and reports.
- Absenteeism and tardiness record.
- Cleanliness, orderliness and organization of equipment and work areas.
- Adhere to company work, discipline, and safety requirements
- Degree of understanding of raw materials and finished product specifications, properties and testing procedures.
- Positive attitude and willingness to help others on the team.
