This position is located at Bureau of the Fiscal Service, Assistant Commissioner Disbursing and Debt Management. As a Information Technology Specialist (INFOSEC), you will be responsible for ensuring good security and risk management practices are implemented, assisting in the development of the system security plan and ensuring compliance with that plan.
Duties
As a Information Technology Specialist (INFOSEC), you will:
- Conduct risk assessment programs to identify areas of potential vulnerability in operating systems used throughout the organization.
- Gather and analyze findings; organize documentation, consult with systems users, and develop recommendations used to identify and define systems security requirements.
- Lead project teams to implement systems security programs and to integrate IT security with other disciplines.
- Provide technical advice and leadership on security aspects of network and systems design to ensure implementation of appropriate systems security applications and policies.

Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or . One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. For the GS-13, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes:
- Serve as the Information System Security Officer (ISSO) or demonstrate experience in preparing or reviewing various IT security documentation such as: System Security Plans, Contingency Plans, Configuration Management Plans, Risk Assessments and Plan of action and milestones mitigation strategies; AND
- Provide advice for the design, development, and implementation of information security policies, programs, standards, procedures, and controls to ensure the security and reliability of information system; AND
- Experience applying laws and policies such as Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA), Appendix III of the OMB Circular A-130, NIST 800-53, FIPS 200 and FIPS 199 for the purpose of securing cloud/web based applications.
In addition to meeting specialized experience, applicants must also show proficiency in 1) attention to detail, 2) customer service, 3) oral communication, and 4) problem solving.
