We're thrilled to invite compassionate and skilled Infection Control Travel Registered Nurses (RNs) or Certified Infection Control Professional (CICP), to become an integral part of our dedicated team at Gallup Indian Medical Center in the heart of beautiful Gallup, NM. This Long-Term Contract Travel RN position at our IHS facility offers you a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of others.
At Gallup Indian Medical Center (GIMC), a welcoming 99-bed hospital located on the Navajo Reservation, you will find a diverse array of clinical specialties at work, including Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Anesthesia, OB/GYN, General Surgery, Orthopedics, Ophthalmology, ENT, Radiology, Pathology, Pediatrics, Psychiatry, Emergency Medicine, and Urology. We serve one of the highest patient volumes in the Indian Health Service, with approximately 250,000 outpatient visits and 5,800 inpatient admissions each year. **What We Offer:**

- At least 2 years of experience as an Infection Control RN
- A Registered Nurse (RN) with an ADN or BSN is preferred, as we value education
- Travel experience is a bonus, enriching your nursing practice
- Previous IHS experience is beneficial, but not mandatory
**Your Role:**
As an Infection Control Nurse or CIP at GIMC, you will be pivotal in promoting patient safety and comfort. Your work in preventing and managing infections will be crucial for the well-being of our patients and the healthcare team.
**Your Responsibilities Include:**
- Developing and implementing thoughtful infection control policies and procedures
- Conducting detailed assessments and reviewing infection-related data with care
- Educating and empowering staff and patients with infection prevention knowledge
- Collaborating lovingly with healthcare teams to address infection-related concerns
- Monitoring infection trends and outbreaks, ensuring swift responses
- Guiding best practices for sterilization and disinfection with compassion
- Supporting the facility in adhering to regulatory standards for the safety of all
- Conducting infection control audits and surveillance to maintain a healthy environment
- Must be a Certified Infection Control Specialist or (CIC) credentialed.

Requirements:
- Minimum of (2) two years experience required
- Infection Control Experience in an Acute Care Setting required
- Bachelor's degree, Associate degree, or Diploma from an accredited professional nursing education program or appropriate experience as a CICP.
- Active BLS (Basic Life Support) required
- Certified Infection Control Preventionist or CIC Credentialed
- Applicant must have active and unrestricted, current licensure as a Professional Registered Nurse (RN) in any State, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a Territory of the United States
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to work varying shifts and schedules
- Must be a US citizen living primarily in the United States
- Must be willing to pass a federal background check
