Sunshine Disposal & Recycling has an opening for an Environmental Services/Household Hazardous Waste technician at our Spokane Valley, WA facility. This is a full -time, four (4) days per week ten (10) hours per day job. The current available shift is Saturday-Tuesday, 6:30 am to 5:00pm. The pay range for this job is $22.00-$25.00 depending on experience and certifications.

Refrigerant Evacuation Certification required. An Associates degree or Applied Associates Degree or Certification in Chemistry, Biology, Sanitation or Environmental Science with one to two (1-2) years relevant industry experience is preferred, but not required.

Class B or A Commercial Driver's License is preferred.

Some OJT will be provided for company processes. Main Job Duties (duties may be changed as business needs warrant):

Collect, document and prepare Household Hazardous Waste products for shipping, disposal or recycling.

Includes liquids, solids, and other commodities like batteries and fluorescent lights.

1. Responsible for the proper identification and handling of household hazardous waste at intake.
2. Prepares Documents and forms as required for waste documentation
3. Bulks and prepares waste for shipment.
4. Evacuate hazardous substances from refrigeration units.
5. Keeps HHW area clean and accessible for customers.
6. Delivers exemplary customer service to customers via verbal communication and physical direction.
7. Attends all training and safety meetings as scheduled by the company.
8. Performs all other duties as assigned.

Refrigerant Evacuation Certification required.

Must complete Forklift Training Certification upon hire

Must have current HAZWOPER training certificate, or complete upon hire

Physical Requirements:

* Constantly (6+ hours per day) sit, stand, walk, stoop/crouch, crawl, grasp, fine manipulation, wrist flexion, reach, bend, twist, squat.

* Frequently (3-5 hours per day) climb, lift (up to 50 pounds), pull/push (up to 50 pounds), carry and reach above shoulder level, kneel.

* Occasionally (1-3 hours per day), pull/push (up to 75 pounds)

* Clearly see 20+ feet, with or without corrective lenses and differentiate between colors (no color blindness)

Compensation details: 22-25 Hourly Wage
