Position Title: Help Desk Technician II/AV Assistant

Position Overview:
The Help Desk Technician II/AV Assistant provides engineering and O&M
support for VTC and multimedia systems to ensure resources and services
are operational and available with minimal interruption.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monitor VTC network performance and conduct daily system/equipment
checks to ensure connectivity and effective operation;
- Schedule, coordinate and manage VTC resources, conference rooms,
calendars and bridges; and setup, establish and connect secure and
nonsecure VTC calls and bridge connections;
Assist local facilitators with conference room with setup VTC and
operations; and provide training and technical assistance in
troubleshooting equipment and connections as required.
- Provide onsite technical support during DVhosted (O6 and above)
VTCs.
- Install, configure, upgrade and maintain VTC suites, desktop VTCs,
and audio/visual systems and equipment.
- Monitor and control VTC performance, utilization and capacity to
ensure optimal system performance, availability, serviceability and
recoverability; and report vulnerabilities or deficiencies to
government technical representatives.
- Evaluate new requirements, conduct site surveys, research and
recommend solutions; and plan, engineer, design and integrate
approved solutions.
- Formulate strategies, develop plans and prepare technical
documentation for the integration of new VTC technologies into
existing infrastructure.
- Evaluate existing infrastructure, research current
technologies/solutions; and provide hardware/software upgrade and
replacement recommendations for endoflife/endof-support COTS
products to government technical representatives.
- Recommend network design changes/enhancements for improved system
availability and performance.
- Assist with tracking and management of COTS licenses, warranties,
service level
- agreements renewals for VTC and multimedia systems equipment and
software.
- Support ondemand and adhoc multimedia requirements.
- Develop and maintain uptodate VTC and multimedia systems and
architecture engineering, installation, configuration baseline and
accreditation drawings, diagrams and documentation.

reactive by nature

concepts, plans, and proposals
Education and Experience Required:
- High school/GED
- 2+ years of relevant experience
- Must possess and maintain an IT I level certification IAW AR 25-2
and an IAT II certifications IAW DoD 8570.01-M and BBP 05-PR-M-0002
- DoD Secret Clearance
- Familiar with Cisco Collaboration or Cisco Video or equivalent,
Cisco Telepresence, Tandberg, Cisco Video, DISA GVS
