Job Description:
Junior Technical Writer
- Location: Onsite in San Antonio, TX
- Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
- Duration: 3-month contract-to-hire
- Pay Rate: $20-$25/hr
Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled Technical Writer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical writing and editorial skills, with experience in developing and writing policies, standards, and procedures. A solid understanding of data governance and information governance is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and write clear, concise, and comprehensive policies, standards, and procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information and ensure accuracy and completeness of documentation.
- Analyze data governance issues and deliver data management solutions.
- Document business workflows and manage data quality processes.
- Create and maintain data quality metrics, business rules, and dashboards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Information Architecture, Information Management, Information Studies, Information Technology, Risk, Audit, or a related technical field; OR 4 years of related experience in information governance, information management, or information architecture (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
- 4 years of experience in information or data-related practices, including information governance, information management, risk, audit, information architecture, IT, analysis, and reporting.
- OR Advanced degree in Information Architecture, Information Management, Information Studies, Risk, Audit, Information Technology, or a related technical field with 2 years of experience in information or data-related practices as noted above.
- 1 year of related work experience analyzing data governance issues and delivering data management solutions, including documenting business workflows and managing data quality processes.
- Extensive experience in data quality metrics, business rules, and dashboards.
Technology Skills:
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
What Sets You Apart:
- Proven experience in developing and writing policies, standards, and procedures.
- Exceptional technical writing and editorial skills.
- In-depth knowledge of data governance and information governance.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Technical background in Business Analyst/Business Systems Analyst roles.
- Strong ability to define, create, and explain business requirements to technical teams.
- Experience in Governance AI is a plus.
