APCO is hiring seniors and recent graduates to join our full-time, 6-month paid internship program. APCO Worldwide is an advisory and advocacy communications consultancy. We partner with public and private sector organizations to help them catalyze progress, act with agility and build reputations, relationships and solutions that enable success. APCO’s Geo-Commerce team advises leaders on their market strategies and supports leading enterprises as they expand globally. The team includes consultants throughout Europe, the United States and Asia and is part of APCO’s trailblazing Geo-Commerce offering, which guides clients whose interests intersect geopolitics and commerce.
The APCO internship is designed to give interns a valuable educational experience, with exposure to a wide range of daily client account activities. Interns are treated as professional staff, participate in team meetings and actively contributes ideas, and support the overall management and growth of client work and the firm. While APCO interns are encouraged to develop their interest, they will gain exposure in various disciplines and services available at APCO.
This internship will sit with APCO's Geo-Commerce Solutions practice out of our New York or Washington DC Office.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor policies and news on topics related to internal relations including trade and supply chain, investment restrictions, economic sanctions, data and cybersecurity, national security and other diplomatic actions;
- Conduct research into issues related to sectors including telecommunications, apparel, agriculture, healthcare and tech;
- Assist in drafting analytical pieces on issues, policies, current events and business trends;
- Assist in identifying stakeholders, media and influencers on topics and issues mentioned above;
- Actively participate in brainstorming and team discussions;
- Support media and stakeholder engagement;
- Provide administrative assistance to projects and new business on a limited basis such as translation, data collection, note-taking and credential compilation;
- Other similar duties as assigned;
Qualifications:
- A demonstrated interest in communications, writing, international affairs, or political science
- Comfort in a fast-paced environment collaborating with a distributed team
- Excellent written and oral communication and research skills
- Entrepreneurial with strong critical thinking abilities
- Organized and attentive to detail
- Able to multi-task and approach assignments independently
- Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite
- Available to work 40 hours per week
- Requires US Work Authorization, unable to consider candidates with OPT/Post-OPT status.
What are the core working hours and will I need to be in an office?
Our interns work between 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. We are committed to a hybrid and flexible working environment, and there may be days that you wish to work from home and days that we come together so that you get to explore more of our culture and meet other colleagues. You will be provided with a company laptop so that you are able to work from home and in the office easily. Compensation: When is the closing date for applications? This is a paid internship at a fixed hourly rate of $17.50
