Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging instruction, maintain a visible and responsive presence in the course room, and meets all faculty expectations.
- Will teach 5 courses per quarter
- Play a crucial role in supporting accreditation, ensuring that LPN education programs meet and maintain the standards set by accrediting bodies, thereby guaranteeing high-quality education and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Implement competency-based education models, recognize learner differences in teaching materials, and maintain cultural awareness.
- Encourage learner engagement and provide personalized support.
- Mentor and guide other faculty members, sharing content knowledge and professional experience.
- Assess and document learner progress and engage learners in timely, relevant interactions.
- Participate in committees and faculty meetings and serve as subject matter experts in course and program development.
- Manage curriculum content quality and initiate projects to support learner success.
- Maintain adequate student records.
- Participate in professional associations and advocate for the profession.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.

Work Experience:
- 2+ years of nursing experience required
- Accreditation experience in an educational setting to include familiarity with accreditation standards and processes in nursing education is required.
- Experience in creating curriculum is required
- 3+ years of higher education teaching experience in a nursing/LPN program, preferably online, is preferred
- Previous experience coordinating clinical schedules and affiliation agreements with clinical sites preferred
- Leadership Experience of 1-5 years is preferred
- Experience managing others is preferred
Education: All degrees must be conferred by a regionally accredited institution.
- A master’s degree in nursing is required. Required certificates, licenses, and unofficial transcripts for all graduate degrees, including the institution, conferred degree, and date, must be attached.
Certificates, licenses, and registrations:
- Current/Active, unencumbered nursing license is required.
Other:
- Must be able to travel occasionally should a business need arise. For most roles travel would not be common. Travel may involve plane, car or metro. In accordance with ADA policies, reasonable accommodations regarding travel limitations can be provided. Travel will be more common for roles such as Account Executives (25 - 50%), senior leaders (10 – 20%) or Strayer Core Faculty (5 – 10%).
- Ability to work onsite in Corporate or Campus location (in a typical office environment) may be required based on role. If so, this would include being mobile within the office, including movement from floor-to-floor using elevators or stairs.
- If offsite or hybrid role, must have access to work in setting which enables meeting all requirements of the role (including privacy, reliable internet access, phone, ability to video conference, etc.) at a remote location.
- Faculty and Federal Work Study roles require access to work in setting which enables meeting all requirements of the role (including computer, privacy, reliable internet access, phone, ability to video conference, etc.) at a remote location.
