Job Summary
The Accounting / Financial Analyst role is responsible for accounting, financial planning and analysis including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting. This role will partner with internal teams to develop, monitor, and analyze financial metrics, trends, and projections.
The Accounting / Financial Analyst will provide insights and recommendations to improve financial and operational performance.
The ideal candidate will possess strong mathematical and analytical skills and be proficient in Excel. Additionally, the applicant will have a proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and possess the ability read and analyze complex financial data. The ideal candidate works well with and can collaborate with cross-functional teams, providing financial input and expertise as needed.
Essential Functions
- Responsible for preparing asset, liability, revenue and expense entries by compiling and analyzing product and cost account information.
- Work with the team on month/year-end close activities, driving the accuracy of the financial results in the close package.
- Provide financial planning and analysis support for product lines, department costs, and strategic initiative spend, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, providing financial input and expertise as needed.
- Develop and analyze operational metrics and provide actionable insights and recommendations to Management.
- Design, present, and monitor dashboards/benchmarks to support and drive strategic and operational decision-making.
- Identify and analyze current and past trends and key performance indicators to drive profit improvement actions.
- Develop presentations and reports to explain business results to non-finance leaders.
- Reconcile and ensure accuracy of accounting and financial transactions.
- Partner with department owners for budgeting, planning, and financial management activities.
- Assist with company audits and interface with internal and external auditors.
- Identify and recommend process improvements to increase efficiency across the Finance team.

Experience
- Accounting and/or financial analysis experience required (3+ years)
- Analyzing financial information.
- Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Strong MS Excel experience.
- ERP system experience, NetSuite is a plus.

- Knowledge in multiple areas of financial planning and analysis (budgeting, forecasting, reporting, modeling, analysis).
- Operationally and analytically minded, with the ability to identify trends, analyze results and make recommendations.

Education
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fields
