Position Overview:
First Horizon Bank is seeking an accomplished senior leader to serve as Senior Vice President (SVP) for the Enterprise Corporate Services Department within the Real Estate and Procurement Division. Reporting to the Director of Corporate Real Estate and Procurement, this role is responsible for overseeing enterprise-wide procurement and real estate operations, governance, and strategic program execution. The SVP will lead large, centralized procurement and real estate initiatives, manage associated payments and analytics, ensure policy compliance, and drive operational excellence. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing large-scale programs, delivering service strategies, and fostering a culture of accountability while maintaining alignment with enterprise goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Operations and Payments
Oversee enterprise-wide procurement and property payment operations, including supporting systems, purchase catalogs, lease administration, and purchase order processes. Manage the execution of several enterprise procurement programs, such as office supplies, materials management warehouse, company store, workplace experience, contract labor, corporate travel and expense, and the internal meetings program. Facilitate all property transactions, including leasing, buying, selling, and subleasing, while integrating with peer departments, property facility management and project management.
Governance and Quality Assurance
Develop and enforce governance frameworks to ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. Own and manage third-party spend analytics for the entire organization to provide transparency, accountability, and cost optimization. Establish performance assurance metrics and monitoring processes to ensure quality delivery of services across the procurement and real estate functions.
Service Strategy
Oversee corporate real estate strategy development, including aligning with internal business units, optimizing the real estate portfolio, and translating strategies into actionable tactics. Drive change management efforts for large-scale programs within the procurement and real estate division to ensure seamless implementation and adoption. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement service strategies that address enterprise needs and align with broader organizational goals.
Operations Leadership
Foster a culture of accountability, operational excellence, and process optimization across the enterprise corporate services department. Manage budgets, vendor relationships, and service delivery to ensure alignment with organizational objectives and high-quality outcomes. Provide operational insights and reporting to senior leadership, including the CFO, to support informed decision-making. Lead and mentor a team, promoting professional development and a high-performance work environment.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly responsible for directing, coordinating, and evaluating designated units or certain personnel in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; providing pay change recommendations; disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) preferred.
15+ years of experience in procurement, real estate, program management, or operations, with a strong background in governance and compliance.
Proven ability to identify, implement, and manage outsourcing strategies for non-core services. Expertise in procurement systems, payment processes, and real estate transactions. Experience managing large teams, budgets, and enterprise programs in a regulated environment, preferably within financial services. Demonstrated ability to lead third-party spend analytics and drive policy adherence across complex organizations. Strong operational acumen with a focus on process improvement, cost control, and risk mitigation. Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders. Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
