This position will be supporting the Propulsion Systems Division at our Kennedy Space Center, FL office.
Role description & Responsibilities:
The Engineering Technician performs hands on activities/tasks associated with electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and thermal protection systems application, assembly, and check-out operations. Knowledge of coating removal, critical coating application, and pneumatic tooling operations is also desired. Participates as a team member to positively influence and enhance the safety, quality, cost, and scheduling of their team. Candidate must be well organized and able to follow and execute computer-based shop assembly instructions.
Qualifications & Experience:
This position can be filled at either a level 2 or level 3.
Experience Requirements for a Level 2:
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in aerospace or aviation hardware processing.
• U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.
Experience Requirements for a Level 3:
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 4 to 6 years of relevant experience in aerospace or aviation hardware processing.
• U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.
Experience Preferred:
• Coating application and removal experience
• Aircraft, Auto or Marine Figerglass Painting experience.
Skills:
• General understanding of electronic work instruction systems (MAXIMO, Solumina).
• Proficiency with hands-on mechanical assembly, thermal protection material application, protective finish removal processes and paint application of metal structures.
• Ability to read, understand engineering drawings and schematics.
• Capability to understand and follow electronic work instruction documents.
• Proficient with manual and power tools.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Self-motivated, requiring minimal oversite; flexible and adaptable to varying work scope and tasks.
• Strives for excellence in workmanship and defect-free products.
• Standard computer literacy skills in Microsoft Office.
Education/Certifications:
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
Salary Range: $47,000 - $78,300
Salary Range 2: $55,800 - $93,000
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
