Responsibilities

The Tandem Unit within the P&C Actuarial and Underwriting Modeling (PCM) department is responsible for developing and maintaining tools, data, and processes to effectively manage business content in support of the P&C Actuarial (PCA) and PCM departments. To further enhance these capabilities, a new team is being established with a focus on building and supporting tools that facilitate the ratemaking and modeling lifecycles. The manager of this new team will have the following key responsibilities:

  • Building and leading a team: Establishing a new team that will maintain existing solutions and develop new, modernized solutions for efficient business content management.
  • Technical oversight and direction: Providing guidance and expertise in the design, quality, delivery, architecture, and support of technical solutions.
  • Product management approach: Adopting product management practices and taking the lead in various stages of the product lifecycle.
  • Strategic vision and alignment: Creating a strategic and technical vision for the team that aligns with key business and product objectives.
  • Supervisory duties: Performing managerial tasks to ensure the team's productivity and growth.
  • Collaboration and relationship building: Developing strong relationships and collaborating with partners across both business and technical departments.

Qualifications

We are looking for candidates with these qualifications:

  • Ability to lead and manage the operation of a team in data and software product development.
  • Possesses background in statistics, computer science, math, economics, data science or other quantitative discipline.
  • Ability to form strong partnerships across many areas of the organization.
  • Ability to lead the creation of strategy, roadmap development, and execution of new technical products.
  • Willingness to try new things and lead a team amidst change.
  • A growth mindset including intellectual curiosity, solutions-oriented approach, a positive attitude, and empathy-based relationships.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills to all levels of the organization.
