Job Title:Industrial Hygiene (IH) / Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist
Department:Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS)
Reports to:Director of EHS
Location:West Deptford, NJ (onsite)
Role Overview:The IH/EHS Specialist is a key player in ensuring the safety and compliance of our clientsUSA's operations. This role involves a hands-on approach to maintaining and enhancing EHS standards across the facility, with a focus on industrial hygiene and safety program development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and enforce EHS policies and programs, focusing on industrial hygiene and safety.
- Offer industrial hygiene support, including sampling and solution identification, and oversee health and safety initiatives.
- Tackle complex EHS challenges with innovative and analytical problem-solving.
- Set objectives and devise methods for new EHS projects.
- Engage in the implementation of ISO standards.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and NJDEP regulations through proactive plant floor engagement and corrective action planning.
- Collaborate with the Environmental Engineer to evaluate environmental impact assessments.
- Manage hazardous waste operations, including characterization, inspections, and personnel training.
- Conduct industrial hygiene projects, such as air and water quality testing and indoor environment assessments.
- Execute environmental compliance audits, including:
- DPCC/SPCC inspections.
- Permit compliance reviews for air and water.
- Waste storage and disposal oversight.
- Chemical and pollution control equipment checks.
- Participate in incident investigations and monitor the progress of corrective measures.
- Assist with EHS planning, safety inspections, and sampling strategies.
- Analyze environmental data and recommend compliance strategies.
- Actively participate in safety training sessions and meetings.
- Uphold a culture of safety and ethical compliance in all job functions.
- Maintain a secure working environment and perform additional duties as needed.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g., Environmental Engineering, Biology, Chemistry).
- At least 5 years of experience in EHS roles, with a focus on environmental and safety auditing, and industrial hygiene.
- Proficient in data analysis and management.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience with EHS management software.
- Knowledgeable about interactions and compliance with regulatory bodies like OSHA, EPA, and NJDEP.
