Our Distribution Center and Transportation Partners are key to helping stock H-E-B Stores and keeping our supply chain moving all over Texas and Mexico.As a Dock Worker for H-E-B Transportation, you'll load and unload trailers, safely and thoroughly. 'Partner-owned' means our most important resources--People--drive the innovation, growth, and success that make H-E-B The Greatest Omnichannel Retailing Company.Do you have a:HEART FOR PEOPLE... ability to work in a team-based environment?HEAD FOR BUSINESS... knowledge and skills to work in a safe and compliant manner?PASSION FOR RESULTS... drive to maintain a sense of urgency in all tasks?We are looking for:- knowledge of warehouse process for sanitation (e.g., cleaning agents, supplies, tools)- ability to communicate effectivelyWhat is the work?Transportation Operations:- Plans and facilitates daily loading and unloading of H-E-B trailers of specific reusables (e.g., pallets, plastic trays and crates, boxes, wrap, ties, assorted returns)- Loads and unloads trailers in a safe and efficient manner in compliance with SOPs; unloads completely- Maintains clean trailers; operates wash equipment; washes trailers as needed- Operates material handling equipment- Promotes a safe and clean work environment- Maintains a sense of urgency; always prompt and punctual- Escalates issues outside parameters to appropriate partiesWhat is your background?- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)- 0+ years of experienceDo you have what it takes to be a fit as a Dock Worker for H-E-B Transportation?- Knowledge of warehouse process for sanitation, including cleaning agents, supplies, and related tools- Working knowledge of related local, state, and federal regulations (preferred)- Math skills (+, -, *, /)- Reading and writing skills- Organization skills- Bi-lingual (English - Spanish) skills a plus- Ability to communicate effectively- Ability to work in a team environment- Ability to operate machines and equipment in a safe, independent manner- Ability to obtain and maintain certification in pallet jack and forklift operation- Ability to operate H-E-B in-house systems (e.g., TINA)- Attention to detailCan you...- Constantly* stand, walk, and squat- Frequently lift and carry 7 lbs for duration of a 10 to 12-hour shift- Occasionally lift up to 57 lbs- Occasionally reach overhead, at shoulder, knee, and floor, bend, stoop, squat, crouch, kneel, climb stairs, and pivot- Work in multi-temperature zones* While there may be exceptions, the measurements noted are generally defined as--Constantly: 5.5+ hours per 8-hour day; Frequently: 2.5 - 5.5 hours per 8-hour day; Occasionally: 0 - 2.5 hours per 8-hour day10-2022
