The base salary range for this position is dependent upon experience and location, ranging from: $138,000 - $190,000
Job Summary:
The Director, Technical Training will play a pivotal role in shaping the overall technical learning strategy for Avangrid. This position involves planning, directing, and supporting technical training related to collective bargaining agreements, regulatory requirements, and additional needs for Avangrid’s technical workforce. The Director will lead a team dedicated to developing best practices in technical training programs, ensuring Avangrid’s business strategy is successfully delivered. As a thought leader, the Director will ensure internal practices align with modern research and practices while overseeing multiple strategies and fostering cross-functional collaboration.
Major Roles and Responsibilities:
Direct technical training teams across various locations and disciplines within Avangrid Networks.
Develop a strategic roadmap based on operations workforce planning to implement a sustainable training strategy.
Lead the development and implementation of all aspects of Avangrid’s technical training programs, policies, and objectives to maintain a safe and knowledgeable workforce.
Collaborate with stakeholders to assess development needs and evaluate the effectiveness of established technical training programs related to contractual bargaining agreements and regulatory requirements.
Meet budgetary objectives and adjust strategies as needed based on financial analysis and business needs.
Engage and influence leaders and teams to ensure technical training activities align with business priorities and have measurable impact.
Identify and measure critical metrics for training, tracking said metrics to ensure successful strategy execution and communication with operational partners.
Lead and develop a team of professionals to implement all training objectives, fostering development and career growth for team members.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in technical training.
Strong leadership, project management, and team-building skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience with various learning approaches.
Ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and resources effectively.
Experience with learning management systems and e-learning platforms.
Ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions.
