Scope Summary

The Wilson DMO Site Lead is responsible for running and transforming the digital capabilities and digital organization for the Wilson, North Carolina site. The automation and digital capabilities support primary and secondary packaging of our Company products for distribution to the US and International markets. Wilson also manufactures and packages our Rotateq vaccine through a unique podular manufacturing capability.

The leader will partner with the Wilson Plant Manager and site leadership team to ensure the business strategic plan is met, while enabling the digital capabilities and culture required to sustain consistent operational performance.

The Wilson Site Lead is accountable for the full technology stack across all aspects of Operations, Supply, Quality and Business support. The DMO Site Lead ensures all project, and commercial activities are supported and delivered ensuring compliant supply of our products.

Responsibilities include:

  • Drive a high-performance organizational culture that accommodates rapid growth and highly dynamic expectations ensuring attainment of site operational and development goals.

  • Provide a single point accountability to the Site Leadership Team for all digital needs, including automation, mission critical infrastructure, data & analytics, lab and compliance.

  • Provide leadership to the DMO organization which partners with and provides support for 2 Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) supporting syringe, vial, bottle and blister packaging as well as Rotateq manufacturing - an innovative POD manufacturing architecture.

  • Provide leadership and direction to the business on a Digital Technology Strategy (including data analytics), which will underpin the Site's mission, be aligned with the site 5 year plan, and fully align with our Corporate IT strategy.

  • Liase with Value Teams and broader IT to ensure business requirements are clearly understood and implemented, and sponsor technology adoption across site operations to ensure value pull through on agreed business outcomes.

  • Accountability for ensuring the site takes a Lifecycle Management approach to ensuring the risks associated with the relevant IT Automation assets are being proactively managed.

  • Collate, prepare and continuously manage the DMO site budget to meet annual profit plan targets. Take a lead role in identifying and achieving cost savings on both capital and expense spend.

  • Ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory safety, GMP, Sox and Validation requirements. Ensure all systems are designed, built and operated to full SDLC requirements. Represent the department on the plant GMP and Management Safety committees and act as lead/sponsor for regulatory audits on key systems.

  • Work collaboratively to drive a safe, compliant and inclusive culture at site.

Education Requirement:

  • Bachelors Degree (Prefer Bachelor of Science) in Engineering, Science, Information Technology, Computer Science or related field.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of IT & Automation systems that support pharmaceutical manufacture management and data capture systems and other analytics-based systems. Preferred experience and knowledge of Werum and Systech/Antares packaging technologies.

  • Knowledge of health regulatory requirements and requirements that drive digital delivery, including 21-CFR-Part-11, Annex 11, Good Laboratory and Manufacturing practices, Computer Systems Validation, and other global regulatory requirements that impact computerized systems.

  • Above 10 years prior experience in Process/Packaging Automation, Enterprise, Business, Information, Systems & Application and/or Solution Architectures.

  • Above 5 years' experience managing people
