Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate dental surgeries between clinics, ensuring seamless care integration.
- Manage surgery schedules for hospital and in-office procedures, including anesthesia and sedation.
- Align pre-op consultations and logistics with providers, patients, and clinics.
- Oversee surgery bookings, maintaining communication with healthcare facilities.
- Provide pre-surgery instructions and orders to patients.
- Coordinate pre-op medical appointments for surgery clearance.
- Partner with surgical assistants to organize equipment and supplies.
- Secure surgery authorizations and pre-certifications from insurance providers.
- Organize post-op follow-up appointments for continuity of care.
- Compile and organize surgical documentation and billing data.
- Manage dental surgeons’ schedules, considering surgery times and urgent needs.
- Support the collaborative dental care initiative, including tracking residents’ procedure requirements.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or a General Education Diploma (GED). Associate’s Degree in Business Administration, Health Services Administration, Public Health, or Medical Assisting is preferred
- Two years’ experience working in a medical or dental clinic is required. One year’s experience scheduling surgery in a hospital setting and dental care coordination is preferred
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred at a level 9
- Knowledge of medical and dental terminology is essential
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong customer relations skills
- Ability to exercise independent judgement and discretion
- Effective verbal, written and listening communication skills
- Ability to prioritize work and handle a variety of tasks simultaneously, with frequent interruptions
