This talent will be responsible for the identification, tracking, resolution, and reporting of all information security and cyber risks across the CISO organization following enterprise information risk management policies and standards.

You will be responsible for identifying, monitoring and reporting risks and ensure appropriate actions are taken to maintain risk and issue management metrics within tolerance.

In addition, you will be responsible for advancing the Program by driving risk mitigation activities, feeding actionable reporting to enterprise risk management committees, and coordinating with other risk managers across the firm.

This key teammate will work closely with the CISO, Information Security Managers, Infrastructure, 2LoD Technology Risk, IT and Business teams to manage risks through their full lifecycle.

The ideal talent will have a broad knowledge of Information Security functions, technologies (including digital/cloud), banking cyber risk management frameworks, and current cyber risks.

You should also have prior experience building and running an Information Security risk and issue management function in the US for a large bank with merger/acquisition transformational change.

Specific activities may change from time to time.

  • Drive cybersecurity risk culture by engaging with multiple stakeholders and ensuring identified cybersecurity gaps are appropriately assessed and risk rated following Enterprise Risk Framework and policies.

  • Ensure identified security gaps are properly documented by identifying and adequately framing scope, impact, likelihood, mitigating factors and residual risk.

  • Work closely with subject matter experts and cybersecurity process owners to ensure their processes are properly and consistently identifying gaps and risk rating them following Enterprise Risk Management policies.

  • Ensure cybersecurity gaps follow the appropriate governance process for risk rating, aggregation and documentation.

  • Perform regular analysis of the current cybersecurity gaps to identify aggregation patterns and root cause of broader risks.

  • Facilitate and coordinate meetings with different stakeholders engaged in risk and issue management to define appropriate risk assessment while adhering to the Enterprise Risk Management frameworks.

  • Ensure cybersecurity gaps are properly dispositioned following Enterprise Issue Management and Policy exception Frameworks.

  • Provide information security risk management leadership and support to the Information Security team operational functions e.g. GRC, Cyber Operations, Cyber Protection, Identity & Access management.

  • Participate in the Process, Risks and Controls (PRC) evaluations and RCSA process to ensure appropriate CCS controls are documented and tested on a timely manner.

  • Provide guidance to process and control owners when identifying risks and documenting and implementing controls to mitigate such risks.

  • Ensure appropriate mapping of cybersecurity gaps and enterprise findings to cybersecurity risks and controls.

  • Drive continuous improvement by utilizing industry-proven frameworks/methodologies, collecting feedback and metrics (quality, delivery rate, etc.) and developing resource capabilities.

  • Establish strong collaboration, working partnerships and alignment across teams in Truist, with a special focus on Second Line IT Risk Management team. Develop a strong “we deliver together” culture.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and eight years of experience in systems engineering or administration or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

  • Deep specialized and/or broad functional knowledge in applied enterprise information security technologies including but not limited to firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, network operating systems, identity management, database activity monitoring, encryption, content filtering, and Mainframe security.

  • Previous experience in leading complex IT projects

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or MBA and ten years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

  • Banking or financial services experience.

  • Other security certifications (e.g. CCNA Security, GSEC, GCED, GPPA, etc.)

  • Other technical Certifications (e.g. CCNA, RHCE, MCSE, etc.)

  • Certification in Information Security Management (e.g. Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC) or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)), or related security certification(s)
