Job Summary
The controls system engineer will be responsible for the design, development and testing of control systems as they apply to CNG/Hydrogen Fuel delivery systems for the class 8 truck market. Develop functional requirements, apply standard engineering principles to create simulations and prototypes to evaluate preliminary designs. Design, test and integrate components to produce a final product.

- Capture and document fuel delivery system/hardware/software requirements
- Specify, design and develop control system electronics hardware, sensors, and actuators
- Design and develop system wiring, including wiring schematics, conductor, connector and terminal selection
- Design, develop, and verify software and control algorithms to meet requirements
- Perform control system tuning/calibration
- Perform system testing and troubleshooting, ensuring a control system meets requirements
- Effectively interface with cross functional teams.
- Communicate with vendors and customers on design requirements and improvements.
- Participate in Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
- Develop and maintain bill of materials for both new and existing projects.
- Create ECR's and communicate with appropriate departments.
- Maintain safe work environment.
- Maintain professional appearance.
Education and/or Experience
- Must be a US citizen or US lawful permanent resident
- A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, mechanical engineering, or computer science
- Minimum 2-5 years of post-graduate working experience in controls (automotive or similar industry preferred)
- Experience in embedded systems application and its testing
- Experience with MATLAB/Simulink, LabVIEW, C, C++, Python software languages
- Experience with CANbus, Serial, and Ethernet communications
- Ability to read, understand and create electrical schematics, and a good understanding of electrical and electronics basics
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to write concise technical reports as an Electronics and Software Controls Engineer
- Initiative to work independently and handle several assignments simultaneously
- Able to manage time to ensure projects are completed by deadline
- Ability to absorb new technical assignments on your own

Certificates, Licenses and Registrations:
- Must obtain and maintain the applicable employee license with the Texas Railroad Commission; must pass test within 90 days of hire.
- Must possess a current and valid driver license with a driving record that meets the insurability guidelines set forth by the company's insurance carrier.
Language Skills:
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
Mathematical Skills:
An understanding of mathematical operations including advanced statistics. Good understanding of engineering principles is required.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Other Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of CAD software is a requirement. Must be willing to travel on a limited basis.
