The Conduct & Community Standards Coordinator provides strategic support to the residential communities at Wayne State University. Utilizing student engagement theory, conflict resolution skills, and restorative justice practices, this position will assist with the student conduct process, student well-being resources, and the development of various proactive and responsive programs that promote a safe and supportive residential environment. This position will also assist with the oversight of residential accountability processes, emergency response efforts, and community education initiatives. This position reports to the Associate Director, Housing and Residential Life.
Essential Functions

- Residential Accountability:Manage the Office of Housing and Residential Life (OHRL) administrative Maxient conduct process as well as include triaging incoming reports, investigating reported incidents, and leading conduct meetings. Collaborate with campus partners to create educational and engagement opportunities within residential communities on topics such as well-being, community respect, and safety. Maintain accurate records of conduct cases and preparing regular reports for assessment and review.35% of the time.
- Community Well-Being & Support:Develop and implement educational programs that address student conduct, community standards, and personal responsibility. Actively encourage student involvement in promoting a positive residential culture through campaigns, workshops, and collaborative initiatives. By engaging with residents, the Coordinator fosters a sense of belonging while addressing individual needs and concerns. Provide guidance and support to student and professional staff members in managing conflict resolution and addressing community impact incidents through proactive and responsive supervision.30% of the time.
- Administration:Assist with the administrative management of Maxient and other conduct-related platform(s). Assist with OHRL departmental processes including but not limited to move-in, move-out, room change, staff selection, and resident recruitment and retention efforts. Respond to concerns of students, parents and colleagues.15% of the time.
- Crisis Response, Safety, & Security:Maintain a safe and secure residential facility. Oversee all necessary reports and records. Refer any unsatisfactory maintenance or health conditions as appropriate. Participate in on-call crisis response rotation.10% of the time.

An apartment is provided.
Relocation, if currently living outside of a50-mile radius, of $1000 to be returned to the university if the employee vacates the role before completing 1 year of service.
Qualifications:
- EducationMaster's degree
- Masters degree from an accredited college or university in student development, student personnel, and/or a related field and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- ExperienceExperienced (minimum 2 years of job-related experience)
- Minimum 2 years experience with student conduct and/or setting and upholding community standards in a college/university residential program.
- Experience demonstrating strong organizational, communication, teambuilding, and problem-solving skills are required.
