Very kind and patient 46 yo severe TBI male seeking an outgoing, fun-loving CNA who can cook down-home meals, engage in playtime, take long walks and enjoy outdoor activities.

Job Description: HCP

Start Date: Immediate

Location: Private Home: Arlington, WA

2 Shifts Avail:

FT: 36.0 hrs wk Wed – Fri 8am - 8pm

PT: 4/24 one wknd month Sat 8am - Wed 8am or 2 wknds month 3/24 Sun 8am - Wed 8am

Wage:

FT Shift—hrly rate according to accumulated CDWA hours (current start wage w/ CDWA: $21.12)

PT wknd—$500 per 24.0 hrs

Position Summary:

• ADL’s and related services necessary for personal needs, comfort, safety & recreation

• Medication management

• Maintain client’s established policies, procedures, objectives, quality care, safety, sanitation & standards

• Strive to incorporate client philosophies with regard for individual dignity in a personable manner

Qualifications:

• 18+yo 

• Have or acquire CDWA contract (App form & benefits: https://www.consumerdirectwa.com)

• NAC (CNA)

• Nurse Delegation Certification (req w/in 90 days of hire if not preexisting)

• Current WA DL & clean driving record; no DUI

• Pre-hire UA

• Physically able to perform max assist pivot transfers

• 2+ yrs experience as HCP

• Knowledge of severe TBI & related deficits a plus

• Proof of vaccines (CIS) & neg TB

• Fluent English and familiar with American culture/diet

• Professional and appropriate presentation

• Reliable transportation

• Upbeat & positive attitude, excel. work ethics & integrity, gregarious, seeks long-term position

• At least HS or GED

• Non-smoker

• Comfortable with small companion dog

Key Health Care Tasks

• Daily documentation (Flow sheets, Vitals, MAR’s and Sz charts)

• Sz & emesis storm protocol

• Aspiration & dehydration prevention

• Neurogenic bladder & associated needs

• Meal prep / manage calorie & fluid intake

• One person turns, pivot transfers & lift systems

• Therapies (physiotherapy, ROM, CDS)

• Safety Management

• General household chores

• Operation of client van for appointments/recreation

• Home well organized for easy care (private bedroom & accessories provided for 24 hr wknd shifts)

• Positive work environment: Client’s charming attitude and well managed care and home contributes to history of long-term providers averaging 8 yrs, longest 26 yrs.
