Full Job Description

Full Circle Health is currently seeking a Chief of Graduate Medical Education (CGME)/Designated Institutional Official (DIO). This is an exciting opportunity to help drive excellence in the ACGME accredited and non-ACGME accredited medical education programs within a Teaching Health Center environment.

The Role - The Chief of Graduate Medical Education/Designated Intuitional Official (CGME/DIO) shall be directly accountable to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The CGME/DIO is a key member of the senior leadership team, Compass, which is engaged in advising the FCH President & CEO in the execution of the FCH Strategic Plan as determined collaboratively by the FCH Board of Directors.

The CGME/DIO will:

  • Provide oversight and administration for each of Full Circle Health's ACGME accredited and non-ACGME accredited post graduate, medical, and other education programs.
  • Ensure compliance with the ACGME Institutional, Common, Specialty/Subspecialty Specific Programs and Recognition requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with non-ACGME accredited program requirements as applicable.
  • Work collaboratively with Full Circle Health's Graduate Medical Education Committee (GMEC).
  • Work collaboratively with the CEO and other Full Circle Health leaders in helping to harmonize and integrate the missions of patient care and education.

As a leader within FCH, the CGME/DIO must possess the professional leadership characteristics, must demonstrate the ICARE value system, and must have the managerial and technical skills necessary to support the goals established by the President and CEO. FCH leaders are critically important to the creation and maintenance of a positive, collaborative, effective and professional organizational environment.

Clinic Schedule - This is a full-time position with a mix of leadership and direct patient care responsibilities with 1-2 half days of direct patient care and 1-2 half days of precepting per week. No call requirements unless desired by CGME/DIO.

Compensation - Salary to be commensurate with experience.

Education:

  • MD or DO

Experience:

  • At least 10 years of experience in medical education as DIO, Department Chairman, Dean, Associate Dean, Associate Dean, Program Director, or Associate Program Director or similar role with emphasis on medical and healthcare education.
  • Knowledge of the ACGME and of its accreditation requirements.
  • Direct experience or demonstrated familiarity with FQHC's, Teaching Health Centers, and/or Patient Centered Medical Homes
  • Knowledge related to educational transformation in healthcare (e.g. Clinic First Model and the Exemplary Clinical Learning System model (ECLS)) in GME Systems, preferred.
  • Extensive experience and knowledge with Graduate Medical Education and residency / fellowship programs.
  • Experience in Quality Improvement Science.
  • Clinical background as a broad-spectrum family medicine physician or pediatrician.

Licensure / Certification:

  • Full Circle Health medical team members must have the ability to be fully credentialed, licensed, and privileged.
  • Unrestricted / unconditional license to practice under the laws of the State of Idaho.
  • Maintain Board certification by the American Board of Family Medicine or Board Certification in Specialty Area.
  • Possess an unrestricted Board of Pharmacy registration, unrestricted DEA registration and all necessary federal narcotics and controlled substance numbers and licenses.
  • Maintain eligibility to participate in Medicare, Medicaid and all other third-party payment programs that contract with Full Circle Health.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • GME leadership activities of leading programs and educational systems.
