Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced career services professional to work as part of a high-functioning team in the school's Student Center, focusing on graduate student professional services and reporting to the Assistant Director of Career Development. You will excel in preparing the students and graduates for employment opportunities and overall professional services, representing the school and its mission to many audiences and connecting with internal and external constituencies. A successful candidate will have the ability to seamlessly transition between independent work and collaborative team efforts to successfully complete projects and programming tasks.
You will also provide strategic counseling and guidance for SEAS current students and alumni. You will work with Student Center Staff to support the creation of high-quality job placement pipelines and nurture external career related connections. You will support SEAS' Student Center events as needed including admissions and recruitment efforts, new student orientation, and other programs within the community- as such, commitment to the core mission of SEAS is essential.
This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule, working two to three days per week on-site in Ann Arbor, MI after an initial training period, with a particular focus on being present for SEAS community events and scheduled programming for career services.
Flexible work agreements are reviewed annually and are subject to change dependent on the business needs of the hiring department, throughout the course of employment.

Responsibilities*
Student Career Support
- Provide career-counseling services for Master's students and alumni (resume and cover letter reviews, career direction, mock interviews, networking help, salary negotiations, etc.) from diverse backgrounds (ethnic, religious, socioeconomic, academic, international) with a focus on strong customer service.
- Participate and help plan career events including, but not limited to: career fairs, workshops, alumni panels, and Student Center presentations.
- Collaborate across departments (Alumni Relations, Communications, DEI, Facilities, Business Office, and various schools and institutes) on career events and initiatives.
- Assist with student/alumni self-marketing skills on social media sites such as LinkedIn, blogs, portfolios, and personal websites.
- Develop,deliver, and recruit professionals to lead in-person and virtual career services workshops/events for prospective students, current students and alumni.
- Develop and implement training to assist students/alumni with various job and internship skills.
- Develop and implement training for student peer advisors to learn the resume and cover letter review process
- Review job and internship documents for graduate students including but not limited to: resumes, cover letters, graduate school and fellowship essays
- Collaborate with faculty to coordinate the planning of lectures and sessions for prospective students, current students, and faculty.
- Attend faculty coordinator meetings to ensure students' needs are being met by offerings.
Professional Development
- Lead, organize, and facilitate professional development workshops for students.
- Manage the career development of assigned specializations within the fields of environment and sustainability by collaborating with track leaders,faculty, and staff
Employer and Alumni Engagement
- Serve as liaison for current and potential employers seeking to connect with SEAS students or alumni for professional development and employment opportunities.
Data Management
- Support data tracking and reporting outcomes for the Career Services department.
- Streamline processes to increase accessibility of technology resources including but not limited to storing session recordings, managing website updates, and creating tutorials for student, staff, and faculty use.
Required Qualifications*
- Bachelor's degree and at least three years experience in a field relating to higher education or career development
- Experience working in higher education or the environment and sustainability field
- Ability to effectively integrate technology into work, workshops, and events
- Experience with collaborating on and implementing strategic plans
- Familiarity with FERPA and other government policies related to higher education
- Experience managing a portfolio of career development programs and student advising appointments.
- Demonstrated history of excellent verbal and written communication skills while collaborating with a diverse community of students, staff, faculty, and partner organizations.
Desired Qualifications*
- A Master's degree or a degree in a STEM related field, or equivalent experience
- Experience working in career services or academic advising
- Familiarity with website design and improving availability and accessibility of resources for stakeholders/customers
