Full Job Description
  • Lead all phases of consumable development, from concept through transfer into production. Responsibilities include generating DOE's (Design of Experiment), collecting and interpreting feasibility data for cell-based assays, optimizing reagent/consumable formulation, testing product stability, validating reagent function on multiple cell lines and instrumentation platforms, and producing customer-facing and production documentation, SOPs, and QC specifications.
  • Full-time on-site bench work is expected as part of the position to develop products for multiple imaging platforms.
  • Analyze, interpret, and present all gathered data to appropriate (internal or external) teams. Ensure that data generated is timely, scientifically rigorous, in line with the proposed study design, and follows industry's best practice. Formulate next action steps.
  • Train/coach junior staff on cell-based and biomolecular assays on all Revvity Cell Counting and Image cytometry systems.
  • Develop consumable/reagent QC parameters.
  • Produce/review the necessary consumable documentation and SOPs for downstream production group.
  • Responsible for day-to-day operations of the research laboratory.
  • Collaborate with different departments internally to set up biological experiments and test new equipment and consumables for next generation development.
  • Monitor market trends and information to identify potential new areas for development.
  • Support new scientific collaborations and applications.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by review professional publications and participate in professional societies, will attend educational workshops and conferences as needed.

Basic Qualifications

  • PhD in a life or natural sciences discipline.
  • 1 year experience in 2D and 3D cell-based assays, cancer biological assays, biomolecular assays, and fluorescence-based assays.
  • 1 year experience with basic computer skills (Microsoft suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams) for data analysis, data sharing, and document preparation.

OR

  • Master's degree a life or natural sciences discipline.
  • 2+ years of prior lab experience.
  • 1 year experience in 2D and 3D cell-based assays, cancer biological assays, biomolecular assays, and fluorescence-based assays.
  • 1 year experience with basic computer skills (Microsoft suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams) for data analysis, data sharing, and document preparation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Able to critically interpret bioassay results, efficiently troubleshoot, and present findings independently is strongly desired.
  • Good project management, organization skills, and attention to detail and accuracy; maintain good documentation practices of experiments; ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with fluorescence microscopy, image cytometry, and flow cytometry is preferred.
  • Experience in reagent development and assay development using immunocytochemistry, immunofluorescence, and/or flow cytometry techniques is highly desired but not required.
  • Computer software experience in image analysis (ImageJ), flow cytometry data analysis (FCS Express, FlowJo, or similar) is highly desired but not required.
  • Experience writing manuscripts and/or proposals is highly desired but not required.
  • Industry experience (1 year minimum) is highly desired but not required.
  • Willingness to learn new concepts, challenge boundaries, and can adjust to changing priorities effectively.
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills (verbal and written communication) and is enthusiastic to work with and provide support in a cross-functional/multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Problem solver, who is creative and always looking for improvements and solutions, with a positive, proactive, can-do attitude; knows when to ask for help and how to help others.
