Health Information Technology & Services (HITS) plays an integral role in the success of Michigan Medicine by providing clinicians, educators, researchers, students, and staff with exceptional technology-related information, products, services, and support.
The HITS Enterprise Infrastructure (EI) division secures, manages, and architects Michigan Medicine data centers, networks, and communication infrastructures. The team is responsible for all Michigan Medicine IT-related technical infrastructure, including data centers and communication facilities; wired, wireless, and in-house cellular networks; spectrum management; communication; complex device management; fiber/wiring plant; hosting; directories, databases, and storage; and continuity of operations institution-wide. The team collaborates with partners across Michigan Medicine to assure the security, stability, reliability, scalability, and economic management of the institution?s technology infrastructure.
Job Summary
Michigan Medicine Health Information Technology and Services (HITS) is seeking a qualified individual to join their Audio and Video Services Team. This position consults and collaborates with all members of the Audio and Video Services teams, consults with construction units, architecture teams, outside consultants, and vendors to support the integration of technology throughout Medical school buildings and North Campus Research Complex(NCRC). You will need to be able to deal with client demands and handle last-minute changes to existing schedules. You will be the main point of contact for the client and are responsible for the completion of projects.
Responsibilities*
- Responsible for audio/visual system design, preconstruction, and project management activities, including estimating, design, coordination, and installation drawings.
- Analyze individual and departmental technological needs for classrooms, conference rooms, auditoriums, digital sign and TV services and provide consultation and solutions based on Michigan Medicine Audio/Video Standards
- Review scopes of work, specifications, plans, and codes to design cost-effective systems that are code- and contract-compliant, acting as a subject matter expert for applicable systems.
- Devise procurement strategies, installation budgets, schedules, and plans for each project to maximize financial performance.
- Assist estimating department with project bids, evaluating third-party design as value engineering when possible.
- Partner with other departments across the institution to ensure project requirements are met
- Design, program, and implement Crestron-based control systems for audio-visual applications in classrooms, conference rooms environments.
- Allocate installation resources as needed, training installation crew leaders.
- Accountable for project milestones and deliverables.
- Work closely with the AV team and our customers by identifying needs and coordinating AV support in all spaces around the Hospital and Medical School campuses
- Update project milestones weekly to stakeholders and leadership
- For existing and newly created publicly shared spaces: Collaborate with Interior Design and Architecture groups to identify room design options and furniture that will maximize the use of the room for the various users and their needs
- Attend related construction meetings to coordinate with project team(s)
- Assist and maintain and update knowledge base.
Required Qualifications*
Required Qualifications for Senior Level
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- At least 4 to 6 years of experience as a project engineer
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with AV system support, integration and design
- Project management experience with technical components and products in large construction projects
Required Qualifications for Intermediate Level
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- At least 2 to 4 years experience as a project engineer
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience with AV system support, integration, and design
- Project management experience with technical components and products in large construction projects
Desired Qualifications*
Desired Qualifications for Senior Level
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting drawings required; AutoCAD or other drafting software experience is preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including demonstrated ability to effectively work with customers and stakeholders.

- Ability to Create and execute project plans while revising as needed to meet changing needs and requirements
- Ability to handle stressful situations appropriately
- Professional appearance and strong written and verbal communication skills required.
- Proficient with Audio/Video technologies; H.323/SIP video endpoints, gateways, MCU bridges. Polycom/Cisco video conferencing devices, Cisco Expressway, Cloud-based Video conferencing technologies (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Cisco WebEx), Live Streaming services(Facebook, YouTube)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Experience with Crestron Toolbox and Dante controller and Biamp software
- Basic knowledge of the ServiceNow platform
- Knowledge of AV installation best practices
- Basic knowledge of IP networks, routing, addressing, and device configuration
- AVIXA CTS, CTS-I, CTS-D certification preferred
- Crestron Certified Programmer, Crestron DMC-E, DMC-D active or previous certifications preferred
Desired Qualifications for Intermediate Level
- Rapid analytical and problem-solving skills, with a capacity to develop solutions that comply with HITS policies and deliver a successful AV experience.
- Experience with H.323 and web-based video conferencing systems such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Webex.

Work Schedule
May require working during non-business hours and on weekends.
On-Call rotation is required for this position.

May require travel to various locations on and off university campus.
