SALARY RANGE

$100,000.00-$115,000.00 per year. The salary range for this position is based on academic preparation, teaching experience, research publications, and industry experience.

SUMMARY:

The California Institute of Advanced Management (CIAM) is a WSCUC accredited, non-profit graduate school located in Alhambra, California. CIAMs approach to education provides a practical and hands-on approach to students who are thereby equipped to lead and succeed in the industry. Our emphasis is on the application of the subject matter and the students ability to demonstrate the integration of the subject matter into their lives. The universitys mission is to build upon the philosophy of Peter F. Drucker, through classroom and online learning, producing successful, responsible globally oriented leaders who are rooted in practice using the principles of Management as a Liberal Art and business sub-disciplines to educate, train, and send out managers and leaders who are prepared and equipped for the needs of todays organizations, communities, and society.

The university awards an MBA in Executive Management with two concentrations:

  • Project Management
  • Business Analytics

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  1. Completed Ph.D., DBA, or ABD, in with specialization or extensive coursework in marketing from a regionally accredited university (official transcripts required with application).
  2. Minimum of 10 years of applied business experience in the profession related to the degree area and teaching area.
  3. Experience teaching and facilitating in person and online using various instructional methods.
  4. In-person classes are hybrid, with weekend sessions on campus.
  5. Online classes are asynchronous.
  6. Familiarity with teaching via an LMS, experience with Canvas preferred.
  7. Published research in degree area.
  8. Demonstration of a life-long learner approach to the field and other subjects.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Teach graduate-level classes in the following modalities: face-to-face, online and hybrid.
  2. Integrate the philosophy of Management as a Liberal Art into courses taught.
  3. Assist and provide direction to students in high-impact learning experiences.
  4. Develop curriculum.
  5. Serve on department and university committees as well as faculty governance.
  6. Conduct and publish original research.
  7. Attend faculty and university meetings.
  8. Participate in Management as a Liberal Art training sessions and discussions.
  9. Represent CIAM to external constituents by bridging the academic and business community with the university to further the focus on high-impact learning experiences for students.

3.Course Evaluations:Submit several evaluations for courses taught at the graduate level.

4.Teaching Philosophy:Provide a 23-page summary of your teaching philosophy. The philosophy should include your purpose for teaching in higher education full time, expectations of students, teaching approach and methodologies used. Also explain your thoughts on teaching to the needs of society today. Include examples, learning experiences, and ideals you have for your students as well as yourself.

5.References: Submit the names, titles, addresses, telephone numbers, and e-mail addresses of three people familiar with your academic and professional background who can be contacted concerning your qualifications. Please state their relationship to you; at least one person should be able to speak about your focus on your contributions to the betterment of society.

1. Approved candidates will be invited first for a virtual interview, and then to our facilities in Alhambra, California, to present a lecture and participate in a series of individual and group interview sessions.

2. The position requires on-campus attendance for teaching and institutional service. Out-of-state applicants who plan to relocate to the greater Los Angeles area will be considered.
