Asphalt Laborer

Candidates must have 2 years exp working at a HMA Plant and a good mechanical aptitude. We offer an excellent starting salary based on experience. An asphalt laborer at a company primarily performs manual tasks like shoveling, raking, sweeping, and preparing the job site for asphalt paving, including removing debris, digging, and setting up equipment, essentially assisting the paving crew with the installation and maintenance of asphalt surfaces by doing physical labor tasks as directed by the foreman.

Key responsibilities of an asphalt laborer may include:

Site preparation: Clearing the work area, removing old asphalt with hand tools or power saws, and leveling the ground.

Material handling: Loading and unloading asphalt materials from trucks using shovels or other tools.

Paving operations: Raking and smoothing out the asphalt mix on the road surface.
Traffic control: Setting up cones, signs, and flagging traffic as needed.

Cleaning up: Removing debris and leftover materials from the job site.

Operating basic equipment: May operate small power tools like a broom, water truck, or concrete saw.

Grade checking: Assisting with verifying the proper grade and depth of the asphalt using measuring tools.
