Candidates must have 2 years exp working at a HMA Plant and a good mechanical aptitude. We offer an excellent starting salary based on experience. A lab tech at an asphalt company is responsible for testing and analyzing asphalt samples to ensure the quality of the product meets required specifications, including inspecting raw materials, performing laboratory tests on asphalt mixtures, and identifying any issues with the composition to maintain quality control throughout the production process.

Key responsibilities of an asphalt lab tech:

Sample collection:
Gathering asphalt samples from different stages of production at the plant.

Laboratory testing:
Performing various tests on asphalt samples using specialized equipment to analyze properties like density, gradation, stability, and bitumen content.

Data analysis:
Recording and interpreting test results to identify potential problems with the asphalt mix.

Quality control:
Ensuring that asphalt production adheres to established quality standards and customer specifications.

Problem-solving:
Identifying the root cause of quality issues and recommending adjustments to the production process.
