Full Job Description

The Diamond Acquisition Analyst will support the Diamond Acquisition team by assisting in the strategic sourcing Tiffany & Co.’s melee & serialized polished diamond requirements, analyzing and execution of benchmark price reviews, analysis and distribution of supplier quality and delivery reports & reporting on diamond procurement related information, using various analytical techniques and software for the internal use & consumption of the DA team. This will consist of both routine and ad hoc activities & tasks, gathering and interpreting data into actionable analysis & reporting. Accordingly, the Analyst role will support general DA business tasks & core activities to ensure day to day smooth functioning of the department. In addition to core business, there will be regular communication and liaising with external suppliers and other relevant cross functional departments to support these specific areas and support the DA team generally.

Key Accountabilities

General Diamond Acquisition Responsibilities

  • Support procurement of MRP melee & serialized diamond requirements; liaise with Planning team for monthly needs. 
  • Gather and analyze market pricing data market pricing data for review by management for the purpose of updating 3rd party supplier benchmark pricing in key areas of responsibility as scheduled in partnership with our cross functional teams at Laurelton and TCO Finance to update standard costs.
  • Assist in the execution of the DPP program; through communication with the DPP QA team as well as the Laurelton manufacturing & operations team and all suppliers, participate in price negotiations & ensure stones move efficiently through the pipeline.
  • Partner with the TGL teams in Vietnam Cambodia and NY to gather 3rd party supplier information; create, track and provide & deliver vendor performance reports to the DA Director & suppliers.
  • Creates and develops reports and analysis to meet the needs of the business. 
  • Create/Provide monthly reporting as needed to support cross functional team as well as management.
  • Interface with various departments throughout the Organization; including, but not limited to the High Jewelry Team, Tiffany Gem Lab, Custom Design, Category Management, Finance, Demand Management, Product Development. Planning & Operations to provide relevant information and updates to all inquiries as warranted.

Communication & Information Management

  • To ensure that the highest degree of customer service is provided to Tiffany & Co. entities worldwide.
  • Provide quick turn-around time on all questions and requests from other departments.
  • Attend meetings and industry events as needed; respond to all internal and external requests/inquiries in Manager’s absence.
  • Gather information, research, analyze & provide updates to internal departments on current market conditions and industry trends.
  • Update Manager on the status of projects, supplier issues, on-time delivery concerns as well as other departmental issues. 
  • Analyze and partner with the DA management team to problem solve issues as they arise.
  • Function as a troubleshooter for the department: proactively seek out system errors and resolve as necessary; assist with the development of new/appropriate ways to streamline current processes.

Required Qualifications

  • Undergraduate College Degree
  • Ability to work in detail with accuracy
  • Ability to work as part of a team or independently
  • Strong computer skills (Advanced Microsoft Excel)
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, follow up and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing priorities
  • Adaptability to new software and systems
  • Solid written & verbal skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of JDE or other ERP systems such as SAP, Power BI, Direct Access Reports (DAS)
  • GIA Graduate Gemologist

The hiring range for this position ranges from $67,405.00 - $85,000.00. The rate of pay offered will be dependent upon candidates’ relevant skills and experience.
