Our Aeronautics Systems sector is currently seeking an Aircraft Structures Mechanic Level 4 to join our operations team, located in Clearfield, UT, working on major assembly structures such as fuselage panels and bulkheads, and structural subassemblies such as rudders, flaps, and stabilizers.
Please note: Only external candidates and NG employees who are not currently aircraft structures mechanics at the Clearfield site will be considered under this requisition.
Position Requirements:
This position requires at least six years of experience working on aircrafts with both general and specific aspects of the job with practical applications to problems and situations ordinarily encountered. Often designated as the lead worker, the candidate will work without established procedures and provide direction and guidance to lower-level employees.
What you'll get to do:
• Aligning parts on jigs using templates and fixtures
• Performing part-fitting operations such as filing, sawing, burring, crimping, trimming, framing, riveting, drilling, and reaming.
• Measuring parts with micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions.
• Modifying incomplete and complete assemblies to incorporate changes to structure.
• Monitoring and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
Basic Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) with at least 6-years of relatable aircraft experience in manufacturing/production experience (or similar)
• Perform moderate strenuous physical and repetitious work to include: lifting over 25 pounds, working with chemicals, prolonged overhead work, climbing up and down ladders, prolonged kneeling, bending, or stooping, carrying tools, testing for and wearing a respirator, and working in awkward and/or confined spaces
• DoD Secret Security Clearance and special program access required to start, but not required to apply
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, assembly drawings, process specifications, technical manuals, written instructions, test procedures, etc.
• Ability to work flexible, changing shifts, including weekends
Preferred Qualifications:
• Active DoD Secret level security clearance
• A&P License
• Previous composite, manufacturing, or production experience
• Demonstrated ability using standard measuring equipment and power hand tools
• Ability to read and understand blueprints, technical specifications and operating procedures
Salary Range: $60,800 - $101,400
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
