General Purpose and Scope of Position:
The Location Operations Manager manages the interaction of support groups within the location including warehouse, production plants (fertilizer, manufacturing), seed, safety, compliance, dispatch and administrative processes. It is the responsibility of the Location Operations Manager to ensure each area of the business operates efficiently to achieve goals and interacts effectively with the other functions within the locations, district, and region. Reports include plant, warehouse, drivers, application (if applicable), customer service, and dispatch support.
Key Skills and Abilities Include:
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
Proficient in all Microsoft office applications
Minimum of five years’ experience in the agriculture business with demonstrated track record in operations, logistics, agriculture, and/or retail location management
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Agriculture or Business-related field is preferred
Key Personal Attributes Include:
Detail and accuracy orientation with an ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
Good interpersonal and team building skills with a positive attitude and ability to establish relationships with location personnel, peers and customers
Demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills with an ability to lead and influence
Understands and maintains confidentiality
Specific Responsibilities and Key Deliverables Include:
Responsible for managing location operations including management of support personnel, operational oversight and customer service
Supports and holds accountability with all employees, coaching, and setting expectations
Oversee and ensure efficient completion of all location logistics and dispatching functions
Coordinate all support resources for the location to ensure compliance with all federal laws, and Wilbur Ellis safety, regulatory, credit and other policies
Support programs to establish Wilbur Ellis as a leading provider of agronomic products
Team-focused collaboration with other locations to work strategically within your district
Work and communicate with the Location Sales Manager and sales team determine their needs and develop plans and actions to meet needs with appropriate operational solutions for the customers
Communicate with Location Sales Manager on initiatives, objectives, strategies, and action plans
Coordinate Operations support resources including fertilizer, value added nutrition, branded products, seed and PPP purchasing to maximize opportunities
Inventory control and responsible for coordinating inventory counts, adjustments, etc.
Responsible for the operational P&L, expense management, Capital Expenditures, budgeting, and gaining proper approval for any large purchases needed for operations
Other duties as assigned
Compensation and Benefits:
- In compliance with all states and cities requiring transparency of pay, the base compensation for this position ranges from $86,400 - $115,210. Note that salary may vary based on location, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and vacation, holidays, health, dental, vision, mental health, and retirement plan participation, including an employer contribution of up to 7% into your 401(k).
