Advanced Practice Provider - Ambulatory-Family Medicine

Summary:
Delivers direct patient care consistent with the advanced practice registered nurse's education, experience and certification, in collaboration with a physician, which includes diagnosis, management and/or referral of health care issues. Promotes consumer, family, and community health through preventative health care actions and through patient advocacy. The advanced practice registered nurse may also manage complex illnesses and/or deliver specialty care. Will see continuity patients for pediatrics, adult health and geriatrics in addition to all other primary care patients. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.
Qualifications:
Required: Family Medicine Certified. At least one year of APRN experience. MSN or grandfathered under Ohio Revised Code Graduate of an accredited advanced practice registered nurse program Current registered nurse licensure in the state of Ohio Certificate of Authority as an Advanced Practice Nurse from the Ohio Board of Nursing Certification as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in specialty. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association or obtains within 90 days of hire. Obtains other advanced life support certifications applicable to practice area within 180 days of hire. Meets the requirements/qualifications for clinical privileges in the specialty/department with The MetroHealth System and must report to Medical Staff Office at time of hire to apply for clinical privileges. Maintains a standard care arrangement and renews/signs it as required by the Ohio Board of Nursing. Preferred: Have or be able to apply for a Certificate to Prescribe/Externship from the Ohio Board of Nursing
