Position Summary
This position provides a welcoming and inclusive environment by providing customer service to a diverse campus community of employees and students. Working with diverse students, parents, faculty, staff, and other involved parties by providing the highest level of student facing front-line customer service. We dedicate each day to student success and retention, as well as equity, diversity, and inclusion.Student Success is our greatest show, come join us!
Full-time, 12 Month, AFSCME position
TOUR OF DUTY: 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. , Tuesday - Friday
8:00 am - 4:00 pm, Saturday
(with Sunday and Monday as days off).
(Subject to Change)
This is a non-essential position.
This is an AFSCME unit position and is subject to the terms of that union agreement.
Essential Duties
Facilities Management supports professional development amongst our staff and welcomes any training you may seek either personally or professionally to support equity, social justice, and inclusion of each individual across campus.Duties include but are not limited to:
- Answer all incoming calls into the customer service center
- Troubleshoot issue and direct as needed to the appropriate trades shop or manager
- Create and/or process all work orders using School Dude
- Perform clerical functions (prepare reports, type, file, copy, fax, data entry, etc.)
- Assist with processing purchase orders, invoices and other forms and records maintained in the customer service area
Required Qualifications
Applicants must have at least (A) two years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, experience in office management, office administration, business administration or business management, the major duties of which included one or more of the following functions: purchasing, personnel management, budgeting, accounting, records management, work simplification, grants management, contract administration or program management, (B) any equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below.I. An Associate's or higher degree with a major in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for the required experience.II. An Associate's or higher degree with a major other than in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for a maximum of one year of the required experience.

- Ability to follow written and oral instructions; good written/oral communication skills. - Knowledge of general office procedures.

- Ability to gather information through questioning individuals and by examining records and documents.
- Ability to assemble items of information in accordance with established procedures.
- Ability to determine proper format and procedure for assembling items of information.
- Ability to exercise discretion in handling confidential information.
- Ability to establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with others.
- Ability to deal tactfully with others; ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently.

Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and multi-task.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) strongly desired.
- Working knowledge of Banner systems and School Dude preferred.
- Ability to adapt to new technology and to address existing and future process needs.
- Understanding of higher education practices.
