Lincoln Property Company is seeking a skilled and dedicated Accounting Supervisor to join our team. This role offers a unique blend of strategic collaboration and hands-on accounting responsibilities, working closely with the Assistant Controller/Accounting Manager on day-to-day decisions while contributing to process improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with Assistant Controller/Accounting Manager on day-to-day decision making.
- No direct reports, however, dotted line supervisory role
- Work on special projects such as process improvement and best practices to create efficiency within all levels of management.
- Provide direction and guidance related to all pertinent accounting and financial reporting matters to Client Divisional Controllers and property management team such as:
- Work closely with property managers and assistant controllers to create and review annual budgets.
- Review and research property management billing transactions, including scheduled charges, and adjustments
- Review and understand tenant leases and enter them into MRI and Yardi accounting systems
- Prepare and Review accrual basis property general ledgers, balance sheets and income statements, including preparing and recording journal entries as required
- Review monthly financial reporting packages and variance reports
- Review balance sheet accounts (including bank reconciliation) and examine all general ledger accounts for accuracy and make corrections as needed
- Setup, prepare, and review CAM reconciliations using the MRI and Yardi recovery module (Must understand how recoveries work)
- Collaborate with auditors to ensure timely completion of audit
Desired Competency, Experience and Skills:
- Bachelor degree in Accounting (Master’s degree a plus)
- +3 years commercial real estate accounting experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Great oral and written communication. Must be able to communicate with company leaders as well as AP clerks.
- Outgoing personality (not afraid to meet people or make a phone call)
- Intermediate to Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office products
- Must have experience in either MRI or Yardi accounting systems
- Detail oriented with advanced research skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Must use good judgment, demonstrate initiative and take pride in accuracy
- Must maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality
- Helpful, eager to learn and great work ethic
