Accountant II/Payroll/Benefits

The Delaware Transit Corporation (DTC) DART First State has an immediate job opening for an Accountant II/Payroll/Benefits in Dover, Delaware.  The Accountant II-Payroll/Benefits is responsible for payroll functions, including payroll preparation; payment of federal, state, and city payroll taxes; verification of payroll deductions; administration of year-end reports, tracing and disbursement of payroll deductions; leave accrual adjustments; and entering garnishments and union dues.  The incumbent is also responsible for administration of contractual pay increases and payouts and fringe benefit accounting for employee moving and automobile expenses. The Accountant II-Payroll/Benefits is also responsible for performing pension functions including; pension calculations, preparation of census information for Actuary reporting, act as the liaison for   pension plan audits and reconcile contributory pension plan arrears. The Accountant II-Payroll/Benefits reports to the Assistant Controller.
