Summary of Position Duties
Ensure timely and accurate preparation and reporting of accounting information to management, investors, and regulatory bodies. Prepare, review, and analyze monthly entries, financial statements and respond to regulatory data request, cost of service studies and associated data requests. Reconcile account balances to the general ledger. Monitor accounting information and system of internal controls to ensure the Company's accounting practices comply with GAAP, company policies and procedures and regulatory requirements. Serve as the subject matter expert for assigned areas that includes resolution of accounting control & process issues and application of accounting & system knowledge in support of Company personnel.
Job Experience and Education
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
- Advanced degree or certification desired
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) is required
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and oral
- Written communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office products - especially Excel spreadsheets
- Knowledge of accounting theory

Other Requirements
- Candidate will assist Company personnel in resolving problems and conduct training on Accounting concepts, systems and procedures
- Successful candidate would be required to perform assigned "storm duty" in the event of a disaster
