Summary:
Responsible for leading and directing the account managers in order to achieve the client retention and add-issue
objectives of the company. Perform account manager role for assigned block of business, including maintaining
relationship with clients and brokers to ensure satisfaction and renewal with PPI, consider purchase of additional
products on PPI platform, and value offered services.
Essential Functions:
Meet or exceed acceptable standards in the following areas:
- Provide advice, expertise and guidance to account managers, peers, staff and brokers/customers on
complex issues. Participate in client/broker meetings to maintain excellent customer relations, and resolve
complicated customer problems. - Establish and monitor account management service plans and standards in order to meet retention goals.
- Set budget and manage expenses of account management department to meet or exceed financial goals.
- Find and implement opportunities to reduce costs, increase productivity and revenues.
- Manage own block of business and add issue opportunities. Renew 95% of net revenue for assigned block
of business. - Promote current services, and develop new approaches and products through consulting with clients, sales
team, brokers, and carriers. - Coordinate with leaders of operations and services to ensure clients are pleased with PPI’s services and
value added. - Conduct training for clients and brokers on procedure, systems and available benefits administration
services and options. May occasionally conduct enrollment or educational meetings for clients’ employees. - Maintain up-to-date knowledge of competitive forces in insurance and benefits administration space.
- Perform other job-related duties or special projects as required
Requirements:
- Provide prompt, courteous and excellent service at an acceptable cost to all customers and operate in accordance
with State and Federal law, the company’s Statement of Business Practices, Affirmative Action, Diversity and other
standards. Actively cooperate and interact with all entities of NFP. - Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- Must possess at least 5 years experience in an external-facing
service position with a carrier or broker; underwriting skills a plus. - Requires knowledge of group insurance products, services, procedures, and systems.
- Must possess strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Needs working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Must be strategic and possess sales skills. Must be detail oriented
along with strong time management skills. - Travel required up to 20% of the time.
- Must be able to make presentations to large groups of people, and small groups including use of technology and able to
analyze complex information.
