Sophia is seeking an Account Manager for university partnerships. The ideal candidate for this role is someone that is highly organized, goal-oriented, thinks systematically and is masterful in managing internal and external relationships. Externally, this person will regularly interface with University leadership (i.e. University Presidents/Provosts).
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Achieve agreed upon sales targets and outcomes.
Perform cold outreach to prospective partners.
Manage a small pipeline of sales opportunities, keeping potential deals and client requests up to date in the CRM.
Provide regular updates to senior sales team members and executives on the status of client accounts and potential opportunities for growth.
Assist Sr. Account Managers and Sales Directors with larger accounts by providing administrative and logistical support during the sales process (e.g., helping with proposals, presentations, and client follow-ups).
Use market research to stay informed on industry trends and share insights with senior staff
Shadow Sales Directors to learn best practices and gain a deeper understanding of the sales cycle and client relationship management.
Help maintain seamless processes between Sales and Partner Success

Work Experience:
- 2+ years of progressive experience in business development or sales.
- 2+ years of work experience in the Higher Education sector.
Education:
- Bachelors preferred, not required.
Other:
Must be able to travel occasionally should a business need arise (e.g. conferences)
Must be able to meet critical thinking and problem solving aspects aligned to job duties, as well as effectively communicating with co-workers.
Must be able to work more than 40 hours per week when business needs warrant. Accommodations related to schedule may be considered.
